Z3 Roadster (E36/7) CE light/ stalls sometimes immediately after start

I have the CE light on all the time now, it was intermittent. Sometime the car stalls immediately after it starts other times it will be ok in neutral but as soon as I shift into gear it stalls. When I restart it will remain started if I keep it at around 1500 rpms for a minute and then it will be fine. Also sluggish.

I would have the codes pulled and see what is causing the SEL and take it from their. Good luck.

There is a BMW mantra which goes somewhat like this: The CEL/SES light is always emissions related, which basically means MAF, cam position sensor, or O2 sensors. Codes should tell you which one. Based on the fact that it was intermittent, and then full on, I would put money on the Cam Position Sensor.
