Problem with iDrive split screen display

Have a 2011 x5 diesel. I keep the split screen set to display "Entertainment Details" however recently the car just randomly resets the split screen to show my global position, a setting I never use. I change it back, but the next time I start the car, it has reset itself to global position. I have taken it to the dealer and they said they could not see a problem, but I think the car has to be driven, parked and then restarted for the issue to occur. I thought it might be related to the switch to/from the backup cameras which are in use just before the iDrive display engages, or that the car is engaging the navigation system for a second and that is causing the split screen to reset to global position... not sure. Anyone ever experienced this?
