1998 E39 528i Idle Whistle
Hey everyone.
I am new here but I have been a "lurker" for awhile while I learn. I think I might finally be able to contribute I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or thoughts here. I was thinking it could be a pump somewhere or potentially a belt or tensioner somewhere, but based on where I can hear the sound best, I am stumped.I have seen a couple of these idle whistles and I've tried the intake fix but that wasn't it. As you can see from the video, the sound is loudest under the car or through the wheel, but from the engine bay, it's not very audible. Thank you in advance!!! |

You probably have more than 150K miles.
Sounds like dry pulley bearing. Search forum for cooling overhaul. |
