An OEM 17"x8" Style 42 wheel (stock wheels on the E39 sport models) would be leaps and bounds over these wheels IMO.

These Beyerns bow out from the centers horribly IMO...

I'm with Jason5driver above though, much much better looking choices out there with the 'mesh' face styling design. I think if your car was lowered a little they'd look marginally better too. Overall, as the wheel face is convex and just happens to be in the design of the wheel that they're close or perhaps stick 'out' past the edge of the wheel lips, they look like wheels 'plucked' from another car and 'plonked' onto this.

Looking at your pics again, yep, definitely needs lowering !

I like the stock rims better too. Won't say leaps and bounds though.

I have the stock rims on my 530i with Sports Package. Mine are scratched so I now know the part number. Thanks.

ALSO, thanks to the poster for sharing his car with us. I don't like the bowing out however I don't hate your wheels either. Thank you as it helps to give me ideas.

Had them in 19's. I thought they were quite nice and OEM looking.

At least you got Continental tires!

But, the pictures I posted are not of my car, but of "SilverE39's" 530i.
He has OEM 18"x9" Style 42's all around.
And, his car is on H&R Sport Springs with Koni Sport struts and shocks.
Great combination IMO...!

Good eye. Stock rims on the Sports Package are noticeably recessed which makes them look more aggressive.

Only reason I avoid going to a lower profile is I like a comfortable ride. The M suspension (Sports Package) is stiff so I imagine (could be wrong) lower profile tires would make the ride more bumpy. So I stick with the stock 17" rims.
