How much did you put in?

How much did you put in?
That really shouldn't cause a short term problem.
It takes 7 quarts, my Indy puts in 7.5

The owner's manual says that if you install the wrong oil, remove it immediately.

I highly doubt that oil is causing the issues you are experiencing.

Ticking noice: Probably the lifters, google/search it supper comman, solutions including changing all the lifters or engine block. Mine does it sometimes, I'm choosing to ignore it as it's very mild and not worth the cost of the fix.

RPM drop and shake: Check for codes. Most likely vanos solenoids or coil packs or spark plugs. BMW engines are picky with oil, but as any engine, it shouldn't really be too picky, especially if you are using the correct weight as you are.

I seriously doubt that any of the issues you are experiencing are caused by the oil you just changed.

BMW oil isn't any more expensive

BMW oil isn't any more expensive than any other top line synthetic so why not just use
that .

Tischer sells kits.
Are you sure you got the o rings in right in the filter.

Did you also change the filter? Was this a top-off or did you do an oil change? Have you checked the oil level since the problem started? Did you have ANY symptoms before the oil change?
The 5w30 Castrol Edge is not causing your problem.
