Nice Drop Off and Shipping Experience.

We dropped off on Sept 19th and haven't heard a peep. Can someone who dropped off after the 19th let me know if our car is still at Nice drop off? It's the Carbon Black 640i Gran Coupe parked right next to the building. Thanks!

FYI: Car was picked up on the 25th for transport. So about a week's time.

FYI Calendar for others dropping in Nice:
Dropped Off Nice Sept 18th, afternoon > Nice transport pickup Sept 25th (6 day wait from drop off until transport pickup.)[/I]
Transported from Nice, Sept 25th > Loaded Bremerhaven Oct 1st (6 days to transport and load on vessel.)
Departed Bremerhaven Oct 2nd > Arrived Southampton, England Oct 3rd
Departed Southampton, England Oct 3rd > Brunswick, GA Oct 21st = 19 days from port to port.
Boat no longer on tracking link, must be crossing the Atlantic. I typed in my VIN # here Under Cargo ID to track our vehicle.

The process:
1) I emailed Nice regarding vehicle status. They emailed back that the car was picked up. A week to work through the backlog of cars waiting transport. A week to get the vehicle to Bremerhaven and wait on the boat.

2) I emailed them back to ask them what ship I would be on. They forwarded my request to the shipper and I received the following response today: Your car is booked for vessel Integrity CB223, scheduled to depart port Bremerhaven 10.02.2012 with an eta at port Brunswick 10.20.2012.

4) A week and a half to process and transport to local dealer? That would put the entire process at about six weeks. Will update with final info when we receive the car.

Anyone else going to be on the Integrity, Voyage CB223? I got to love this ship as I thought shipping time was almost 28 days? This schedule is only 18 days. So I'm saving 10 days which makes up for the 14 days I had to wait to get from Nice onto a boat in Bremerhaven.

6-8 weeks seems normal from what I've heard on this forum. This is the main reason why I don;t want to do an ED.

Personally, it is for us, worth being without the vehicle for that time in exchange for the whole experience of delivery, driving around Europe, going fast, the memories, etc.

Thanks for posting this, OP. I dropped off my car in Nice on 9/14, and according to my CA, am still not yet aboard a ship. I guess there's a good chance I'll be on the Integrity as well!

Congrats. Did you see your car in the photo's I took? We dropped off on the 18th so I would think that your car would have already left before we dropped off on the 18th.

Email InfoNICE (at) ttroissy.net regarding your car. They will forward your status request to the shipper. The shipper responded that I would be on this boat. I haven't talked to my CA.

I just dropped off in Nice on Monday, it was pouring rain so I wasn't able to get any pictures, but there were probably 6 cars next to the building. Closest to the building were 2 M5s (one black and the other white), then it looked like another couple of white F10s and a 3 series. The guy at TT Transit said they expected so send a truck out next week so I'm hoping for a relatively quick turnaround up to Bremerhaven.

Thanks for the update! They seem to get trucks in quite frequently to Nice.

We've dropped cars off in Munich, Amsterdam, and Nice and Nice was just as fast as Munich: 5 wks to the day from dropoff to redelivery in Atlanta; and that was back when all ED cars came in through NYC. Our Amsterdam dropoff came in through Brunswick, GA, and it took 8 weeks.

The drop off guy at Nice says that the ED program grows in popularity by leaps and bounds each year. He can tell a big difference. We had to wait for three truckloads before our car was picked up. CiboM5 said a truck picked up on the day he dropped off and I saw a truck the day after when I dropped off. If there were less cars, we could have literally been transported the same day or the next.

Your 8 weeks is probably because they need to add more transport trucks.

He also told me that they ship all the european makes (Mercedes, Volvo, etc.), not just BMW. I wonder if each brand has its own truck or if they call for a truck once they have the requesite number of cars. It would seem that, if the volume is high, there would be a better chance of getting on a truck quicker.

@jlukja I believe that each make has their own logistics provider. The folks working at the TT office told me that BMW schedules the trucks based on the number of drop off appointments that they have arranged through the ED process. He also said that eight cars makes a full truck and they do not send off partial trucks. Like 640GC pointed out, they shipped out a full truck the morning I dropped off, one the next morning, and based on the pictures I saw another one or two days later as I was on a boat 9/27.
