X1 Preconditioning
Hello all,
When I ordered my X1 the SA told me briefy about the preconditioning feature. I tried looking for more info on this but there was only info on the Active E. Do any of the current X1 owners use the preconditioning system? if so.. How does it work? |

But if this is true for the US market, this would be awesome for this incoming summer

X1 Preconditioning
It works on my 2014 in the US.
It does not turn on the engine and it does put a load on the battery to operate the fan. It's under vehicle settings then climate on the iDrive menu. It is called parked car ventilation. You can set up to two timers for it to come on or just turn it on while you shop or something. The fan lasts 30 minutes. Sent from BimmerApp mobile app |

It's on the 2013. I also had it in the 2009 335i. Requires iDrive.

My 2006 330xi has that feature, never used it though! Supposedly the car would know not to run down your battery.

Sounds like a very useful feature for hot places.. I wonder why there's not a lot of people talking about how great or bad it is..

pre conditioning
I have it on my 2013. Been tempted to try since I live in So Cal. I thought it mentioned in the Manual not to run it more than 1 time per day, there were a couple of other parameters, so I think it will drain you battery if you are not driving your vehicle everyday.
