Hi,
I have a 2003 330xi w/ a little over 130,xxx. I want to try to figure this out before actually taking it to the shop...I live in MN, I gave the car to my little brother to drive to Kansas and back. A week after I got it back, I notice this really bad wobble when I would step on the gas to get the car going. Feels like the wheels were going to fall off. It's AWD so I checked the tires to make sure they all had about 35-40PSI. I purchased the tires less than 6 months ago. After putting air in all of them. It settle down for like a day...then the wobbling started up again. What is going on? It only happens when I step on the gas to get the car up to speed. The steering wheel wobbles a little when I brake also. Can someone help me out? ![]() Thank You |

I was told by a shop my control arms were causing the vibrations (if I remember right). They wanted about $700 a piece to repair them....I've been holding off on the repair.
In my simple terms, they basically said that once the control arms start to go bad it allows for extra movement in the tires. Their explanation was more in depth but I can't remember their terminology If you take it to a shop, they can put it on a lift to examine them. The place I take it to for oil changes (a non-dealership shop) found it during their inspection.
