e36 m52 Alternator

At the following link its says this alternator can replace and out perform a Valeo alternator. . . . Would anyone recommend this or stick to a Valeo?

my experience with rotating electrical has been fairly extensive, so i have used just about every source out there available.

my rule of thumb is the more difficult the replacement, the more important it is to get the thing bench tested before i put it in. (ever do an older honda??)

so if it is affordable and has a decent warranty, why not try it. i'vr had 'brand new' units (as in not remanned) not charge properly right out of the box, and i have used the cheapest reman available with no issues.

and 'rotating electrical' are starters and alternators, just so ya know...

the important thing to remeber is the output rating on an alternator, though. you do not want to replace a higher output unit with a lesser output unit. it could lead to overheating and shorten the life. going with a higher output, however, has not shown any downsides as long as the unit will fit properly.
