Local Toronto/GTA: Where do you guys swap your tires?

Since this will be my first Bimmer - do you guys go to any special places to swap & balance your summer/winters and vice versa? With my old car, I just used to go to Green Bay Tires (Bayview/John) as it was cheap ($7 a tire for 17's). But I've read some not so positive stories about them lately on the threads. I'd hate to risk with a brand new car.

Dealership prices are like $90+ and I am sure there are more affordable options.

Any ideas?

I bought OEM wheels and winter tires and intend to do the switch over myself.

I hate the idea of some 'hack' removing tires, reinstalling tires and balancing 'em. The rims are bound to get damaged during that process.

Thanks lbjgh - sorry I wasn't too clear, I also bought OEM wheels and winter tires (agreed that frequent removing of the tires, reinstalling, and rebalancing on the same rim is going to end up badly) and also intend to do just a wheel swap between seasons.

I was more wondering if there were reliable shops in town that would do the wheel swap at a reasonable price. (And yes, I was quoted $90+ for just swapping the wheels at the dealers)

You can try Don @ Autotrend. He's the ex-service manager from the now closed Beaches BMW and only works on BMW's now. I have been using him now for about 4 years and he's great.

His shop is on Broadview Ave. north of Danforth. He can be reached at 416-696-2277.
