Tipping at monthly garages

In Manhattan, and many other cities as well, I'm sure, we have to valet our cars on a daily basis at our monthly garages. What do you all do for tips?

1) Follow the doorman tipping protocol: Don't tip daily, but do give a big tip at Christmas/once a year to each of the valets and garage managers/supervisors.
2) Tip $1-5 daily when you pick up the car.
3) Tip $1-5 daily when you drop off the car.
4) Both 2 and 3.

That's a tough one. I guess, watch to see what others do at your garage.

I would opt to randomly tip them at the $5 range. It helps if they have a joined "tip jar". But to tip only the lucky guy who takes your car or bring your car will exclude everybody else. Or maybe you could tip them before any holiday, if you don't want to wait for Christmas.

I'm lucky to have our garage below the building and we all have assigned spots and we self part.

Mein Auto: It has two dipsticks
Ask yourself if you were the one valeting, would you rather rely on daily tips or that BIG right before you get fired at the of the year.
