Spark plug change tips

Hi

This will be the start of long process of illumination.

Today I want to replace my spark plugs, is there any tips on replacing these on a M43 engine

I can't think of anything special or unique, have you changed plugs before?

Hi Simon

Yep on previous car MX5, have a torque wrench so should all be ok. What is the Gap and Torque setting

Many DIY guides say to use anti-seize on the spark plug threads. Both Bosch and NGK say NOT to use it on their spark plugs, since they already treat the threads and additional anti-seize leads to over-torquing. I suspect all manufacturers do this now,

Since the spark plugs have such a long service life (80k+ miles), I have always used a LIGHT coating of anti-seize on the threads, just to help ensure that the spark plugs do not seize to the aluminum cylinder head. To avoid over-torquing, I torque to a couple of foot-pounds (10%) less than the dry torque specification.
