White Smoke

Ok my 05 545i has 160,000 miles on it,
Had my fair share of problems with but Im keeping it.
Can anyone give me an idea of whats causing this
It happens only after its warmed up and sits idling for a couple of minutes then puff it starts smoking like a chain smoker
When I accelarate it goes away
Changed the CCV valves
I do have an oil leak from the alternator bracket that im back and forth to do it myself
Anyone know whats the cause?

Are you sure it's white smoke and it happens when car is warm. Because it could be valve seals, since the way you discribe, it could be valve seals. I know a good shop for valve seals in Leesburg Va.

Valve seals. How long have you had the car and how many miles have you put on it.How much idling? If you've owned it for more than 50k miles how often did you change oil and what did you use?

Re: White Smoke

100% on the white smoke
I had it for a year, It had 136,000 when I bought it
Still cant believe I put 24,000 miles on it
I changed the oil 3 times so about every 8000
This is my daily driver and I really run it

Place your palm at the exhaust end, wait until smoke shows up and asked to someone push gas pedal couple times and check for dark spot on your palm If you see them then it's valve seals.

Right after that dial 911 because you'll pass out from the exhaust fumes!
