Green dots on oil filter housing

I just noticed 2 green dots on the oil filter housing on my wifes 2008 X3, while changing the oil. They line up when the filter housing is torqued to the correct spec. Is this done at the factory, or is it possible they did this at service dept to expedite future oil changes
