I picked up my 2012 X3 in late Jan 2012 but since it didn't snow afterwards I wasn't able to see how it handled snow/ice/slick pavement. With the winter months fast approaching what can I expect during snow and even driving over wet roads with leaves? i live in SW Connecticut and we do have some hilly/curvey roads where i live. thanks in advance.

Cant speak for the new model, but my 2008 X3 handled the worst snowfall in over 50 years in MD where we had 3 feet of snow in two days. Car were buried. I actually put my car in reverse and pushed snow back, and the forward to make a gap to dig out around her. I had the Michelin Pilot A/S and I cant say I have felt that comfortable and in control with any other car I have owned short of my jeep that was "Lifted" several inches for serious off road. I love the Northeast and come originally from the Adirondacks of NY state. I took my X3 on a logging road that was pure mud in October two years ago and had no problems. I think you are going to have a blast come snow season.

I have the same feedback.
I think the key is having good winters on. As Scotty used to say "Ya cannae deny the laws a physics" :-) I incorrectly answered a previous note on Winters saying I had Pirelli Sotozerro Winters, oops I actually have Dunlop SP Winter Sports (m2 I think). They were fantastic last year in snow, I actually want MORE of the white stuff this year to please myself (having come from a mercedes background, I can only now gloat at the unbelievable traction the the X / Winter tyres combo gives).
