Security on 1980's BMW's?

What is the security on the 1980's BMW's? I take it there is no alarm, and what else?

Not sure exactly what your asking? No, there probably aren't going to be any alarms.. Like any car, an intelligent thief can take it if they really want to.

I was just wondering if there were any alarms on a 524td or anyother BMW was a broader question...

Most likely not, unless they're aftermarket.

Auto security has come a long, long way in the last 25 years or so. A good bet is, it's not real good on an 80's model. Of course as noted, a pro will get your car if they really want it. The trick is to make it nearly impossible for some joy riding kids and to make it so much a pita for the pro to steal they move on to an easier target. N4S

Thanks,

I have a question, is the trunk the safes place in the car? Im thinking if i put a huge Pelican case in the back, my valuable cant be taken except is someone opens it from the front of the car, if they were to open it at all. There would theoretically be a lock on the case.

Well yes, mostly because what is in there is out of sight. If someone wants in, it is easy enough to punch the lock and open the trunk.
