98 540i)check out the picture missing a cap?
Im not sure what part this is but i noticed im missing a cap,can anyone tell me what it is?

Diagnostic link connector. Get a cap from the dealer. S/b covered. There are exposed live connections.
The lanyard breaks, and the cap gets lost by a moron mechanic. Actually, OBD-II readings, et al, are taken here. The BMW DIS uses this connector for early MYs.
