how do safely remove center console (armrest)

am planning to have my center console repainted somehow... due to tropical weather the paint coating of the plastics in the center console has started to peel..... this includes the center cup holder up to the arm rest portion...

how do I safely remove this center piece without damaging it... opened the center compartment (below the arm rest) and there is no visible screws to remove.

You can just replace the centre cupholder, it is a seperate attachment. It is held in place and clipped into the remainder of the centre armrest console, just push the cupholder portion back as far as you can, and lift the "nose" front part up.

*This assumes you have the centre armrest and one cupholder. Basic versions had no centre armrest and two cupholders instead.
