New BMW owner

Hey all

Finally pulled the trigger today and bought myself an e39 for my first BMW. Always have been a fan so a very happy day.

2001 530i M package with a 5 speed manual. 170,000kms (105,000 miles) picked up for 6k

Coolant system has been refreshed and a fairly decent documentation package for all maintenance from previous 2 owners.

A couple small things to take care of over summer.
1. Radio does not work
2. Power steering feels sticky or stiff at times
3. Ash tray stuck open
All in all in great shape

I plan to store over winter and then take on an epic 10,000km road trip to bc next summer.

Smiled the whole 5 hour drive home

These cars are great for road trips. Do you have the fold-down rear seats? If you do, you can fit a road bicycle in the car--no need for a bike rack. Last year I went on a 16,500 mile road, 4 1/2 month road trip around the US, one of the best things I've ever done.

Congrats, beautiful 530. Great color and the 42s always look sharp on these cars. Jealous of the stick.

Great combination you have there.

Storage is a good thing, salt and cars do not work well together......rust never sleeps.
Get a battery tender, if you don't already have one.

Smiling is a good thing.......!
