Oktoberfest Delivery in true Bavarian style

Well this is late but last week in the midst of the Munich craziness of Oktoberfest, we took delivery of a 328. My wife and daughter and dog were all in traditional Bavarian dresses (and I took lots of grief for not also wearing Liderhosen!). Our presenter commented that we were the first she had seen in the garb. But most of the staff were dressed for the festival and really seemed to appreciate the effort.

It was a great day. Moto-cross drivers were driving up and down the stairs at the Welt and the factory tour is not to be missed. But the best part was that I actually was allowed to drive "her car" through the Austrian and Italian Alps.

Cross one off the bucket list!!!

Beautiful car and congrats! Way to have fun too with all of it with the Oktoberfest attire. Very cool. Maybe one of these days I will be able to attend the largest "fair" in the world!

You took your dog on a European delivery? That's one lucky pooch.

I bet you tool a lot of grief for not dressing up Even the dog was in the spirit. Looks like you had fun, and nice that everyone got to participate. Driving the Alps is something that shouldn't be missed, so I'm glad you got to drive her car. My wife didn't drive on this trip as this was "my car", which just means we'll be back when we pick up "her car"

I enjoying meeting you guys in the lounge. I was the guy with his Dad who asked if we could take a picture of your dog (attached). The car and everyone looks great!

I was there too with my wife, we thought the dog in the dress was a great touch. Congrats to you guys on your car.

Btw, I agree that the factory tour was kind of a letdown. Rolf (the BMW driver mentioned in umpteenh ED Threads) had said so before... Manuela (and all tour guides) are contractors, not BMW employees so their knowledge is limited. Also the whole platforms/walkway thing...being so far away from the action is kind of dull. I tried to book the Dingolfing tour which (again, per Rolf...) is the old fashioned tour where you walk next to the line and get burnt by sparks flying off the welding robots but it was not available for my dates.

A couple of years back I did the Plant Spartanburg tour, if you do PCD go ahead and do it. It is like that (old fashioned), you walk next to the line, literally able to touch the cars (frowned upon...). And the tour guide is a BMW employee, in our case one that was there since they opened the plant and knew pretty much everything on every model that came out of Plant 10 (E36 3 seires/Z3/Z4/X5/X6).

I have not looked into this but since you brought it up. What pre arrangements were required to get the dog "in county"? Always thought this would be cool to do. Thinking about a Audi Q5 TDI next year for the wife and her two mini Daschunds. She's German too, born there anyway.

Wow, you all are super festers! Bimmer and October that is. Congrats on the new wheels. That's cool that you brought along your pup. Munich is such a dog friendly town. Our Maltese and Airedale would have loved hanging out in the beer gardens.

During my last ED, my wife choose to get some sleep while I went to pick up the car on my own.

On ED last year we bought our daughter a traditional Dirndl. She absolutely loved it. I don't think I could bring myself to put on a pair of lederhosen. A man needs to protect his dignity ;-)

You are missing out. First a man in leather pants is always cool and they are actually very comfortable. I may start wearing mine to work
