Even when I had runflats, I had a wheel come loose (front wheel) because the bolts had not been tightened correctly, a really scary moment, but when I realised what was wrong there was no wheel brace or socket even to re-tighten, had to call a breakdown truck who once we realised what was wrong could not believe it.
So I now carry a wheel brace and socket in every car I drive, and have developed a real phobia about correctly torquing a wheel bolt !!!! PPS, the reason the bolt became loose was a combination of incorrectly torqued and the fact that the wheel had just been professionally refurbished and the paint had also covered the face on the wheel which bolt face connects with, talk about lesson's learned
