CPO 2009 bmw 328i coupe price check

I'm looking at a 2009 328i coupe sports package only space grey metallic outside/black inside, 31000 miles. The dealership has a price tag of $26000. After doing some negotiations, the salesman says that he could only bring down the price $1000, to $25000, which is only a 4% price decrease, which I did not accept. According to carfax, the car has been on their lot for almost 3 months now...

Do you guys think I could get them to lower the price more? If so , how much more can I bring the price down? Or is $1000 off is a good deal already and I should get the car? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

As always the answer is: It depends. Merely stating 4% isn't enough of a discount isn't likely to convince them to lower it more. You need to provide tangible reasons for further discounting.

The best way to do that is to research what other comparable vehicles in your area are selling for. If they're selling for less then you can build a case for them to at least match those other vehicles. Or you may discover their asking price is reasonable (or even better).

Once you have this information and are ready to present it to them be ready to make a deal. Whatever you do have a price you think is fair and let them know what it is. Don't negotiate something you're unsure you're going to buy if the price is right. Let them know you're ready to buy if they meet your price.
