Best Mod Ever?!?!

I finally had my last mod done last week of my currently planned mods. No mods are in the work as of right now.

I actually think this is the best mod yet followed closely by my Cobb AP and is definately the best in terms of cosmetics. It's the M5Tech new front bumper. Before and after are below (2nd pic angel eyes are not on) but the point is the old OEM standard bumper vs the new OEM M5 bumper.

I went OEM over something like Umnitza or another non-OEM brand because my body shop guy swears by OEM and has said he's run in to nightmares with non OEM body parts so I went with what he told me. He's a friend of mine who I trust and basically got me the OEM bumper for nearly the same price as I'd pay for the non OEM.

I think this bumper really adds to the aggressive look of the car. I'm very, very happy with it.

2nd shot also shows the matte black kidneys, which I think look better with the M5 bumper over the old one.

Mine is a toss up between the tuning and the H&R Sport springs. They sort of go together, power + control. Just an awesome upgrade, I enjoy it every single day!

I also did full Mtech with the M5 rear spoiler. Looks crisp.

Finally the speaker upgrade with iPhone docking station on dash is pretty sweet.

Still on the list are iDrive integrated rear camera, larger downpipes and larger FMIC. Was considering the upgrade kit to F10 style HD iDrive, but too expensive.

Looking good uwhusky. I'd have to agree with oceans on the tuning being one of the best. I'm fighting the urge right now though to buy some CKS coilovers w/swift spring to give me more control of the beast.

I have to agree the Cobb tune is right up there but I only make use of the Cobb tune maybe a few times a week. The front M5 bumper is always there, always looks good and always puts a smile on my face whether it's parked or even when I'm parked behind someone at a light and I can see the front reflection of my car off their car. I would never get rid of my Cobb though and I love it.

For the person who asked me how much it cost me, I made a cpmprehensive claim on my insurance against the old bumper because something on the freeway hit me and caused the front bumper a little damage. So I took the check the insurance wrote me to fix it and applied it against the new OEM M5 bumper. All together it was about $1,000 but out of pocket for me was only $400.

I do like the front and digging the black kidney grills. I almost got a white E60 but found out it had massive frame damage. I really dig the white E60s a lot.

I did the full kit and also included the HID fog lights. Only added $150 to the bill and are hugely better than the stock ones. Also they match headlights in color and intensity. I actually use the fogs now.

Are the HID fog lights simply a bulb change out? How do I know if I have the HID or not?

The HID fog light has a different assembly. You probably have the H8 35W halogen bulb, same as is used for the angel eyes. Need a whole new kit for HIDs that have Xenons. The glass is a fish eye shape, not the flat integrated one. Check w Umnitza on this, they are very good on price.

I did an mtech m5 upgrade to my 550i. I get so many compliments, and I agree, it changes the whole car look dramatically.Matte grille as well

You wonder how many more 5 series cars BMW could have sold if they all came with that body kit. It just looks 100 times better than the stock one which is kind of pedestrian.
The headlights already look hawkish and sharp (and they work incredibly well, even swivel!), and I love the sharp kinks in the raised hood and the hofmeister kink down the body. The aggressive front bumper just completes the look, and an all black car just screams of Batmobile!!
I also looks great in white and silver. Dark blue is nice too.
I don't get the brown one, that one is basically unsalvageable, though i did see an M5 with orange custom interior where it worked.
