OFFICIAL F10 grille thread - POST PICS!!

There seems to be several threads a week discussing the various grills for the F10. I think there is no better explanation or advice than actually seeing pictures of the various grills ON the car. It helps to see the various colors of the F10 with different grilles.

Who ever has pics of their grille on their car, please post them here!

I tested all combinations on my imperial blue 535i..and finally settled with Chrome/Black

space grey surrounds, OEM chrome verticals.

I like the M5 variation on my Alpine White 550i. The black fins give it a sport look while the chrome outer trim complements the other chrome trim on the car..

I think the M5 grill black insert looks all business while the chrome surround edge add just that tad of class.
Thanks to Big Deep1, I installed a set on my Titanium Silver MSport today...a "snap" to put on. Looks great to me...Wonder why I waited so long.

Next change would be to remove the front license plate and plug those holes (another Big Deep1 inspiration).

Installed M5 Grills in a 550i M-Sport, Carbon Black.
Entire process, including unboxing the new grills, took under 15 minutes (using the "grab and pull" technique described elsewhere).

Looks sharp man… I dig it.

I really think the stock grille pops the most on Jet Black cars, and think it's the best look for this particular color.... however, if I change mine for the sake of variation, I'd probably do the M5 grille as a "best of both worlds" approach. Need some contrast up front so all black grille on a black car that has subtle chrome accents just doesn't work for me.

Since these grilles seem to be two pieces, is there a way you can only order the black slats from the M5 grille, and not the chrome ring (considering it's the exact same chrome ring that's on the car OEM) for a lower cost?

Congrats Eddie. Looking very clean and mean .

I LOVE the look of the Titanium Silver M-Sport body kit with M5 grille. I think the solid black slats go perfect with the black mesh on the M-sport bumper.

From my research, it does not. The only way is to buy the OEM F10 Performance grille.

Carbon black with black grills

Here are my before and after shots. Maybe it was the cold, but my OEM grill did NOT come out easily! I ended up cutting the OEM slats with a hacksaw blade to give me better access to the tabs, and I think it also allowed a bit more play in the grill to allow them to finally pop loose. Anyway, I'm happy with the end result...

Is your outer grille trim painted the same color as your vehicle? Also, do you have a tint on your foglights or do they just look a little darker because of the picture angle?

Thanks, BigDeep1! Yeah, the outers are painted to match the Alpine White, and I got them from Bimmian.com ($260 painted). Nothing is on the fog lights; I'm guessing it was just the lack of good light when I took the pictures.

I'm assuming that you bought one grill and took pieces from your stock grill to make the finished product. Correct?
