program mirrors

Sorry tried searching could find this topic, is there any way to program the mirrors to fold in once you turn the car off, and fold out once you turn it on?

You can do this with DIS, or you can take in to your loal dealer... its needs to be programmed... I dont think its by defult...
my friend e60 does it when he holds the down the lock or unlock button

You have to be a coding expert or know one. Go to post # 61 in page 7 of the thread below. Two modules have to be recoded in order to accomplish this.

Yes, by coding it yourself.

Not as a user setting. You need a programming computer setup and cable.
I just did it to my wife's F10. If you need help search BMWCODING.COM and see if there is anyone in your area that does it.

+1 TampaMark has it right. Get your OBDII cable and software from Ebay (mine was from BMW cables in UK) for $50. Spend several hours setting up the software and reading at BMWcoding, then go to the link provided on the M5board. That link in the Rosetta Stone for programing our cars.

There are some settings you can adjust in DIS, but I think the mirrors will require NCSExpert which is more involved. Not sure if the dealers will do that or not.

I don't think the dealer can enable this but someone with NCS Expert can do it. I did this for a friend on his e46 M3 so it must also be possible on an e63/64 with auto fold mirrors.

As for a cable, I have bought a good few, here's my collection below but the best I've seen for ease of set up is BMTechnic.co.uk The guy seems to have written a few nifty software macros that take all the guess work out of the install, so it becomes a 7 click affair. I don't have this particular set up myself, I saw it when a fellow forum member on another forum bought it.
