Grabbing a plane to fly to Boise tomorrow to pick up my 09 X5 -35d with 36,000 miles.
The dealer is offering a 7 year (read additional 3 years over manufacture's warranty), 100,000 miles warranty for $4500, covers everything. Is this worth it? Are you guys seeing this vehicle being no problems. Just cost me $1200 to get the water pump replaced in my wife's 06 - 325xi. Just want to check with the experts. thks in advance |

BMW isn't exactly known for reliability. I've had 2011 and 2012 models and they earned their reputation. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed with both quality and service. Nice car, though, if you can get by the hassle factor. How far are you from a dealer or servic station?

Enjoy!! I just purchaced our first BMW about two weeks ago, and the wife and I continue to find reasons why we need to go for a ride in it. I picked up the same model, 2009 x5 35d from BMW's CPO website. I had ours shipped from California all the way to Kansas for about $800. Can't wait to hear all about it. What packages does yours have on it? Color?

I don't know if the price is appropriate, but an extended warranty and maintenance is.

I am 150 miles from a dealership. Do have BMW certified mechanics in town. Good shop. I will be having some of the maintenance done by the dealer as it is still under factory warranty.
Where is everyone on oil changes. My local guys say that one should go no longer than 7500 miles between changes as the detergents in the oil drops out and then the motors gum up. |

I don't think the oil breaking down is an issue, for me it's the life of the filter. You'll get a lot of opinions on 15k vs earlier.

1. Is that a BMW warranty???? So a bmw, PLATINUM, 7 year 100k warranty... Might be an OK price, actually. Check with a board sponsor real quick, see what they are offering (PM them, a few threads on this). if it is not "bmw" i'd pass.
Do also keep in mind that you can buy that any time before 4 yr/50k. 2. Skip the maintenance, your local guys can do it. 3. 7500 is good. Not sure about 'guimming up' but over 10k is too long Enjoy!
