Snow Chains

Can you put snow chains on 19 inch rims, have heard you can't?

I'm new to the X3's but from what I've read you may have clearance issues in the back. Also it's not recommended putting chains on the front tires. I have family I visit in the winter near Bradford PA, up in the mountains, so I've been looking into this myself. The roads to the family cabin sometimes require chains, but I have 17's so I'm set.

Check out this post on bimmers forum. There's a guy that looks like the tried it but never updated the post on how it went. Maybe send him a PM and see if he actually tried it.

According to the owner's manual, snow chains will not fit on the 19" or the 18" with the staggered setup.
