Idrive Icon

I don't remember ever seeing this icon before but it went in place of where I get the little envelope icon to denote a text message or email. I noticed it when a text came through (I heard the audible notification) but no envelope icon in place. It appears to be a car with some sort of wi-fi signal radiating from the front of it. European Internet option icon? Anyone know what this is? I want my envelope icon damn it! Lol

Never see it before. I get the envelope. You would have your car set to military time... I would do that, but I don't have enough fingers and toes to count that high and convert it

Lol... I was getting the envelope icon until tonight. Anyway, real military time is not supposed to have a colon in it.

I have so much to learn. All I know is if you take out the colon, then sh!t goes crazy

Not that I am aware of. How can you tell?

I didn't get that icon this morning and interestingly enough, my MOG app wasn't working as well which needs Wi-fi or cellular data to work.

Seriously though, I should've checked to see if I was getting BMW Online when that icon popped up. That $199/ year service with Google Local Search and shhtuff. Of course I think about it now.

Ok, decided to RTFM and found out what it was. The manual says that the icon denotes "Requesting Vehicle Position"

I had to call my wife to make sure it was her and not some hacker trying to get into my car. Turns out she was trying to scare me by honking my horn with the BMW Remote App after I parked and secured the vehicle. I guess this is what comes up as well if your car gets stolen and BMW pings it.

That makes sense. Amazing how much stuff is in that manual if you bother to read it. Too boring for my taste...

For me, it's not that it's boring... Just too much information to remember every little thing. I'm sure I came across the above at some point, just didn't remember it. Found it on the integrated manual. What an awesome feature. Used it quite a bit
