Went to Cars and Coffee this am - Took some pics...

Drug myself out of bed this morning at 6:15 am and I was on the road at 6:30 in order to get a half-way decent parking space at Cars and Coffee in Great Falls, VA - need to be there no later than 7am. It was a bitter 29degrees out this morning and I heard reports of snow just north of us here in MD, nevertheless a beautiful fall morning to enjoy some good coffee and to check out some fantastic cars.

As usual another great turn-out this morning. Plenty of BMW's and other German road machines to drool over, not to mention a few of those gawdy Italian cars. Plenty of Audi R8's, GTR's, 360/430's and I never got around to taking pictures of those cars. In fact there are so many nice cars that I missed.

Unfortunately I only had my phone/camera with me, so the pictures are not the best quality - apologies. I think I even managed to squeek a few pics of the "d" in there somewhere.

The nice thing about this event is there is something for everyone. Also not in the pictures was a new Fisker and 4dr Tesla S - first one I've seen.

Enjoy...

Thanks. That 2002 was very nice looking - great restoration. The guy that owned it was probably in his mid 40's and he was there with his wife who looked non-to-thrilled to be up at this early hour. One of my favorite BMW's there was the green 3.0 CSI. The pictures really did not do it justice. That car was immaculate inside/out. Also that Land Rover was awesome eye candy too. I felt like a kid in a candy store today.

Here is a great video taken in May '12 of some of the various cars as they leave the Cars and Coffee event. Some pretty bad sounding machines! Check out that Pantera!

So how was the coffee?

A friend of a friend has a modified DeLorean that he loves taking to these events. They randomly bug my to take my older Mustang to one. But I already wake up at the crack of dawn for work 5-6 days a week and enjoy sleeping in when not working

The coffee was quite good at that time in the morning, not to mention it helped to keep my hands warm. In fact I had 2 cups -- needed a little extra pick-me-up.

YEa it's early and I only do it but 3 or 4 times a year. There are guys that are there every Saturday, but like you I enjoy sleeping in too.
