Pulling/Drift on 2010 750LI X-Drive
Hi all,
I test drove a loaded 2010 750LI X-Drive today with the intention of purchasing assuming that I didn't notice any of the drifting/pulling to the right issues which some other owners have experienced. Unfortunately, the car definitely pulled and drifted to the right. I really am interested in purchasing a nice CPO and was wondering the following: 1. Does this issue affect the rear wheel drive cars or just some of the X-Drive versions? If the rear wheel drive versions are clear of this issue and track straight, I may start searching for a RWD car. 2. Is this a run flat issue and would moving to normal tires solve it? Thanks for your thoughts! Last edited by carter333167; 10-13-2012 at 02:52 PM. |

The owners who have experienced the issue seem to report that it might be the X-Drive, the run-flats or perhaps the electronic steering. It is a documented issue for some owners and I am quite sure that the car I drove today was pulling and drifting. I drove the same road in my E66 and it tracked straight and true so it was not an issue with road crown.

This is the first I recall hearing of this issue. I never noticed any pulling or drift in my `11 750i xDrive.

I just got my new F02 and have not had that issue, granted Xdrive was the only option I did not want as it didnt make sense to me where I live.

2011 750Li X-drive / M-Sport.
Had the car 2 years so far and never noticed any pull or drift. Also the first time I'm hearing of this issue. FWIW, I've had 7 BMWs and this has been the most trouble free BMW I've ever had - by far. |

Dumb question, but are you sure that your roads aren't graded that way?
I thought my 08 Charger SRT8s alignment was off, and it would pull to the right as well. I had 4 different dealers align it to my frustration, also made sure tires weren't worn prematurely or under-inflated. I spoke to an very informed SA, and he mentioned that it was probably a mix of the roads that are designed for rain runoff, and summer tires that grip and tend to follow the pavement inconsistencies when they paved it. Ever since I've had that car I have noticed all my cars (not my two trucks) drive the same, some roads pull the car towards the right slightly. Chris

I have been driving S500 on same road for over 10 years and did not experience the car drifting to the right. I will be taking the car to the shop tomorrow, will post the outcome.
I found this post with similar issue on F10 http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=549373 |

Took my 2009 750Li to the dealership today. The alignment on all four wheels were completely off. Had that taken care of for $269. The rear left tire thread was completely worn out.
Dealership did not have the tire, will be going back on Wednesday to get the new tire. Car still pulling to the right after the alignment. I will wait until the new tire is installed to make a judgement. Before i take the car after the new tire is installed, i will have the service technician drive the car to make sure it is not pulling right. If it is then i will know for sure it is not the alignment or the tire. |
