FINALLY!!!!! I honestly can't believe it worked!!!! I got the INPA cable in the mail today, and loaded the software onto my "Bimmer" laptop, connected it to my 525i and went through the menu to find the adaption reset. Went for a test drive...... EUREKA!!!!! NO JOLT!!!! I love it!!!

Hopefully this helps someone out in the future. I costed me about $45 for the cable, and a little time loadng my laptop with Windows XP, and that's about it! :-)

I haven't had the balls to do it on mine yet, lol. I still have the slight pull when it downshifts from 2 to 1, which I'm sure newer software would fix, but I'm too afraid of frying something to try it

Trust me when I say that as long as you just go to the menus that you need to, you won't fry anything. If it'll help I can send you photos of what I did. Granted, I may have a different program than you....I'm not sure. But it's pretty simple.

First, I got the program loaded on my laptop.

On the disk I recieved with my INPA cable it had a PDF file that gave step by step instructions on how to load the program. You then click on the "INPALOAD" icon and the program opens.

And you just follow the Function keys specific to your vehicle. For me I chose E60, then Transmission, then gearbox control module gs19

I don't want to undo what I fixed so please try and follow along. Once you get into that menu there should be anothe box that pops up and new "F" keys at the bottom of the screen. One should say "adaptions". And then again new "F" keys will appear and i believe one reads "reset". Hit that key and a dialog box should pop up confirming the adaption reset. I hope I explained everything right.

Oh, I haven't gotten very far with that, but after I loaded the program onto my laptop there was a folder that also appeared in c:\NCSEXPER. I opened this and found the icon "NCSEXPER" in c:\NCSEXPER\BIN

From there I haven't attempted to do anything until I have the correct coding procedures.
