Sound Upgrade Pricing Question with Blaupunkt and BSW

Hello,

I live in NJ and own a E60 with stage 1 sound system.

I plan to do the following upgrades,

1. BSW sound speakers system - 599$
2. Earthquake Sub 8"
3. Blaupunkt pnp 555

I found all these and have them with me.

When i took it to an audio specialist, he quoted 750 labour to fix them.

Is it really an DIY kind of installation if i look into doing it myself.

Further,
He suggested Jehnert. If i go with this brand does the Blaupunkt amp is enough or should i shop for a different amp.

Please suggest.

I use Jehnert with stock sound system. Fantastic upgrade in sound. Couldn't be more pleased. I was going to replace amps, DSP and all that but decicded this was sufficient.
The front kit costs $900, but it is well worth it. I paid $250 to have it installed by the dealer who sold it. He is in Edison, NJ.

BSW is not in the same league. PM me if you want more details.

It is possible to do the install yourself, but it requires removing seats, opening up door panels, etc. I was more than happy to let the pros do it and there's a certain methodology to the way they get access to the drivers and replace them. F.ex. the tweeters were hot glued, and fitting the subwoofers under the front seats required some trimming of carpets. Whole job took close to 4 hours.

I am also in the process of upgrading my Logic 7 sound system. I recieved my Audsion Lrx amp going to power the Stock under seat subs with it. There was a guy who did this and said you wont need to replace under seat subs if you power them with an external amp. So I will try it and let you know.

Also going to add a Morel Ultimo 12" in a custom enclosure and power with the audison.

Earlier I had the same sub powered by a JBL GTO 1400.1 and it was just mind blowing. SQ was just too good to be true. It was as transparent as a woofer can get. Hopefully Audison will provide the same or better SQ.
