What brake pads and rotors should I buy?
Someone please advise me here, I drive a 2006 BMW Z4 3.0si Roadster, I am about to purchase new rotors and pads, not looking for anything fancy, just need to replace. Where should I buy my rotors and pads. All four. On a side not some ass backed into my rear bumper this evening I found it when I got off work. It's just a scratch but its my only defect so far, I'm sick to my stomach.
Thank you Willy

Willy , if you want to get rid of all the brake dust that piles up on your front rims go with Ceramic pads. They cost a little more but are well worth it. Sorry about the jerk backing into your Z. You have to be very careful where you park these cars. I always park far away from everybody else. I have been lucky so far. I got my Brake rotors and my Ceramic pads off of ebay the motors section a few years ago and have had great results. Good luck.

Factory rotors are fine. Try the Cool Carbon pads, or EBC Greens if you're on a budget.
Bavarian Auto, Tischer online or Turner motorosport all sell rotors.

I myself use cool carbon but heard akebono was pretty good or better. I have yet to try them but with my driving, it'll probably take me 2-3 years to wear this set out

Hawk HPS pads (LINK) are one of our most popular ones for the 3.0si. They are a great performance street pad which is also a low dusting ceramic pad.
For rotors Brembo blanks are very popular for the 3.0si. HERE is a link to them. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Like Akebonos
I've had good luck with Akebono Euro ceramic pads and OEM Brembo or Zimmerman rotors. Next time, though, I'd get rotors that have (cadmium?) coated hats...less visible rust.

i just put centric/stoptech cross drilled rotors and cool carbon pads on my 3.0si and really like them. Very little dust and great stopping power, plus the cross drilled rotors look great with the two piece wheels.
