But lately since I am not in my open enrollment, I have been putting in the hours and getting out of work around 8 so the Irving gym is dead, so I have been back there for a week.

I'm considering on getting stage 2 on my car. Just so tired of waiting forever for Dinan to work out a tune. Burger stage 2 will Provide similar if not better numbers anyway while being $1400 cheaper.

Anyone in the Houston area running JB4? my faith in Dinan is slowly fading..

It's not my faith with Dinan that's the problem, but the unreasonable price for a box tune. If the tuner BMW endorses can't produce a tune in 3 years with the given resources and funding, they are not worthy of business.

+27 (equal to approx number of months we've been waiting since F10?)

Exactly. I can't imagine what is the reason for a three years delay to come out with a tune. Especially they already have the same engine tuned for other models(335 etc).
By the time the Dinan tune for our cars releases, the next generation of 5 series will probably be out already.

Hartge is also another option which turnermotorsports sells but at a hefty price tag of $1,200. The tune uses the same concept as the JB4 but i'm sure more refined since Hartge is a HUGE bmw tuner in Europe. I rank them higher than even AC Schnitzer...

I just installed the JB4 stage 2 on my 2013 535xi and so far it feels pretty damn sweet. Right off the bat you can feel the extra power. Feels like the car shed a few hundred lbs when it accelerates now. This is at the default 3.5psi over stock setting.
Didn't get to romp on it the car much but so far just normal driving around feels alot nicer than stock. The install was a breeze. Took me alittle while just to get familiar with the N55 motor but i can probably do the install again in less than 10mins My problem now is finding a good spot to run the cable/jb4 so it looks more stealth. The thing with Hartage is that it's pricier but less gain. (only +56hp and +59 torque)

Compared to the JB4?
While I do say you get a lot of bang for your buck with the JB we aren't getting anywhere near the gains they claim on their website. From two dynos I've seen it's about 20-30whp and 50-60wtq and these were cars running catless downpipes. Hartge's numbers appear to be at the crank so not sure how it stacks up with the JB4 since numbers are measured at the wheels. Alan

It's plug and play. There's two wires you have to tap into but you use something called posi-tap (look that up) so you don't cut anything.

I would not think that the 20-30 whp you quoted would support your first impressions of the default boost performance difference. I can't wait for your comments when you bump the boost and step on the pedal.

When it comes to tunes that work on multiple cars its hard to trust this kind of data. These could be numbers from an e9x N55 engine

@ Alan, you used the posi taps for the CAN wires ?

Yep. Easiest way to tap wires in my opinion. The concept is brilliant and works flawlessly.

Dinan just put up some rims and front brakes for the 535 in their website, hopefully that's a good sign for future offerings....

Thanks. My search seems to have brought me under the side category of driveline tuning. Thanks! Dinan is still lame in their offerings for our F10 535i :/

Peter:
Just wanted to follow up. I know that in several other threads you have noted that your highway response to the throttle has improved. Question: Did your car seem unwilling to accelerate / downshift at speed before? Is this what you describe as being solved? How did your car pull away from a stop? Did you have any of the dreaded tip-in lag / lurch? If so, did the JB solve that? Thanks. Considering JB4 Stage1 especially if it will get rid of this behavior.
