Correct, I wouldn't lump in an Evo/STi with a 3 series, but I wouldn't say its the fastest sedan out there nor compare it with something out of Detroit. Hyundai is another matter though, their higher end models fully loaded do have a lot of the same creature comforts, I still wouldn't consider one for myself though.

Even when you rarely might say serious things.

But since you mentioned these issues.

- I found a mod for digital speedometer (also to roll up windows from remote).

- Don't want to stream bluetooth audio (yuck). You just misread that one post about rdio streaming to iphone and then to car via USB.

-Don't care about album art. I actually have one of my shortcuts set to turn off the idrive screen cuz I don't like the distraction.
Here is a link to all the threads you've started on Bimmerfest regarding your F30:

Of the 12 threads you created asking specific questions about F30 functionality, I personally took the time to help you with multiple posts in 10 of them. To say that I wasn't being helpful is quite hurtful, actually. Click the threads, read my responses, read you thanking me each time. Just because I no longer agree with you doesn't make me the bad guy.

As far as stirring things up and seeking attention, really, you create a dozen threads about mysterious "missing" features that you simply didn't buy in two forums and now you drop this bomb of "My F30 is an Underwhelming Boat" and I'm the one needing attention?

Everyone else bought the 328i for a good reason. Some configured it for Sport and drive enthusiastically. Some configured it for Luxury and drive it comfortably. Some configured it for a little of both and drive it for both purposes. That's the beauty of the F30. It's a very configurable car that can suit any purpose a sedan can possibly be used for. The Touring, M-Sport, and eventual M3 take it to an even higher level.

Instead of taking shots at everyone else, how about you thank those who tried to help you while you take a look in the mirror at the reason you're unhappy.

BJ

A lot of looks do not necessarily mean people like the look. From what I have read on various forums, there are definitely more people who do not care for the new look, than those who love the new look. Many waited for the m-sport package for this very reason.

I don't get it.

I think maybe the 3 is bigger dimensionally and the power is more isolated. There is also the lack of sound.

But in reality, the N20 6mt will run away and hide in terms of power from an stock Cooper S.

I dyno'd the Roque prototype exhaust yesterday and it showed a 20lb ft tq increase netting 260 to the wheels on a load bearing dyno. It also has the proper sound it desperately needed. The N20 has a LOT going for it.

Not sure if it will be a Boxster though. This time I'm going to try the hell out of a bunch of roadsters to pick the one I like the most...Boxter, Z4, maybe even the SLK.

I drove my cuz's SLS AMG earlier this year. Bad mistake. Cuz I'll never have that sort of coin and driving something like that is just so addictive.

Gotta say, for me, the best family ride's a minivan. Mercedes makes good ones; I like Honda for it anonymity and inexpensive, reliable transport; quality. Love fob op'd automatic doors & rear, what, hatch?

But for fun, Porsche hits the spot....

I don't get it either. Before I owned the car I worried about the motor, now I marvel at it. Maybe at some point I'll pay the money to get a boost in HP, but probably not.

Buyer's remorse is typically financial, psychological, based on lack of research or some combination. Here it looks like we have all three combined.

What do the performance black grills have to offer. Will they make the car "look" faster?

Not really. Like you already said, your base F30 is a better car than a base a4 and base C250. BMW is trying to cater to as many consumers as possible and they do that by offering an entry level sedan such as the base F30. Coilovers and 18's with sticky tires and it will be a different car.

Some people like cleaner lines. Some like the modded look like the M stuff.

Just a matter of taste. I'm perfectly satisfied with the looks of the F30.

Few years back I attended a presentation by a BMW designer in Toronto. He explained their thought process behind designing. Basically he was saying through research they have a very very good handle on where design tastes in general are headed. They have an ability to predict future tastes. He said BMW designs cars people will appreciate during its model cycle. Lost of people complain about new model looks but eventually it grows on most. He said it wasn't a coincidence.

Sounded believable the way he was presenting it. But I suspect they have a big role in defining our future tastes too, like Apple. And he said that this went beyond design too. So given that rationale, maybe the performance will grow on me too.

Of course. I drive exclusively in sport. Did try out the other 2 modes when I got the car first just to compare.

It's ok dude. There is some useful info between the noise. And I'm a BMW fanboy of sorts too. You don't wait 13 weeks for something you aren't a fan of. Nothing wrong with expecting more though from what you are a fan of.

Have you driven an S4? It's a monster and might suit your driving style better. However it is still a SEDAN and is not going to be as tossable as a Mini Cooper S. It's also a lot more expensive than your 328i.

Wouldn't even think of the C250. It's a grandpa car, like the CTS. The A4 I drove during the BMW test event was just a luxurious car - not matching 328i in performance.

So talkin about bigger tires - I'm ignorant to what that does. Makes it faster?

LOL. This coming from the guy who was told 100 times that the intermittent wipers only adjust when… Wait for it… You rotate the intermittent timing switch.

I look forward to tomorrow's new thread you create entitled "My Car Won't Make Toast, Help" so I can tell you that you forgot the Dining & Baking package so your F30 doesn't do that either. Then you can tell me how much your F30 blows and how you're writing a nasty letter to BMW for creating such a terrible car.

I'm convinced now its more than just a listening problem with you.

I found out about the wiper sensitivity AFTER I started the thread. Didn't start that thread AFTER being told about it a 100 times.

Anyway, arguing with you is fools errand. Good thing I have some free time today. But you are losing your jester value James.

You can have all the horsepower, torque, stiff suspension money can buy. If your only direct physical contact with the surface you are driving on sucks, its all for nothing.

Nothing will make the car faster, unless you buy a chip. I dont think you need to make it faster. I think you need to focus on the driving dynamics of the car. Instead of a soft cushiony ride that masks your speed if you go with a more agressive setup like some coil-overs and larger rims with sticky rubber, the ride will feel more dynamic, it wont feel like your floating when driving.

Did he not get the sport package? Frankly anyone who says they are a driving enthusiast, wants a sporty ride and opts out of the sport package to save a few bucks is what we call a "poser".

With the sport seats and suspension the car feels COMPLETELY different. Trust me, I've done enough back to back drives to know this is true.

Maybe he can get someone to assume his payments and go get something else?

He got the base and didn't lease. It sounds like sportline would have given him more of what he is after but he can still put $5,000 into this car and it will out handle a sportline.
