PDC Failure!

Hey guys,

I have a 2003 735i E65.
The PDC failure appears/occurs occasionally. Anyone know what is the reason and cost to fix it?

Regards,
Keith

I myself am in the process of repairing my fault but mine is not intermittent like yours, what I can tell you if that if your park sensor button is flashing constant yellow when it is activated or reverse gear is engaged with no audio at all your module is faulty, if it flashed yellow same as above but there is a extended beep and then the audio disappears suspect a faulty sensor/tranducer is at fault.

Cost of the PDC module in Australia is $700.00 plus $165.00 coding

Thanks for the reply. Are you doing it by yourself or sending it back to dealer?

Mine needs to go to the Dealer to have the PDC module coded to my cars VIN, by the looks of the part number of the PDC it is a universal parts across their fleet.

With your issue I would drive by your nearest car wash if you don't have a pressure cleaner handy and blast thoroughly all front and rear parking sensors in your bumpers allow them to dry for a bit and let us know how they respond. Could be a sensor failing also so get a friend to get low and listen to each individual sensor for a clicking noise, I would recommend engaging reverse gear every time you try each sensor, just make sure you have your foot on the brake pedal unless you don't like them haha

With occasional or even permanent failure it is most likely the sensors. Over time, moisture gets into the sensors and wear them down.
You can find new sensors on ebay for £18 (~$27) and upwards.
They are very easy to install, just look at the DYI guides on this forum.

Thank you so much for your time. I am looking into eBay and just want to confirm that the front and rear are they the same? Easy to peel off the panel and replace them? Do i have to code my PDC module after replacing?
That would be my next move. (Clean it up and let it dry) IT WORKS THIS MORNING FROM HOME TO OFFICE!!!
I have a feeling that the sensor is faulty and I am right. My mechanic checked and shown that the front right and rear center right are faulty. (But sometimes it works, so it might be moisture or wiring harness?)

Another problem is that the water pump for the windscreen washer. Anyone has experience in replacing them? I have the headlight washer up and running but not the windscreen.
And the wiper blade needs to be replaced. Anyone can confirmed is 24" for both?
It that only Bosch is selling replacement for BMW wiper blade? (AUD130)
I am looking at TriOn which is much more cheaper. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Keith

Front sensors are straight while rear sensors are L-shaped. They are very easy to replace. Just remove the panel they're attached to and then push them out backwards. No need for any coding when you replace sensors.
