Fluid leak near rear driver side wheel?

I have a noticeable stain on my garage floor near the driver side rear wheel. I see a drip coming from the area about 6 to 8 inches from the inside of the wheel & the fluid looks maybe slightly yellowish? I have no messages yet on my idrive. Does anyone have any idea what the leak might be? Thanks

the fluid could be from the hydraulic rear sway bar, or it could be a fuel leak! I had a pinched gasket there after a fuel sending unit was replaced and I lost 6 gallons of gas in 4 hours while parked!

Thanks for the reply csmeance. I don't think it is gas because there is no obvious smell so maybe it's your second suggestion. Is there a reservoir tank that I could check for low hydraulic fluid & would a code or something show in the idrive at some point? Would it be dangerous to drive the car if it is low of hydraulic fluid?

If the fluid lights with a match - it's gasoline

or any other flammable fluid

You can check both! One is behind the trunk liner and it's for the hydraulic trunk mechanism to lift and close it. The other is in the engine bay and it's for the whole dynamic drive system such as the active rear sway bar (potential source of leak). It's by the driver side near the windscreen in a small round black container about the size of a can of beans. It's filled with some odd, specialty fluid that you should ONLY use. You can get it from BMW and I can't remember the name but it's oil based and probably flammable!

The windshield washer fluid reservoir also leaks in that area.

OK, so I feel a bit embarrassed but I think it was nothing more then melting snow. I put a small bucket under the drip & the next morning I checked the bucket & it was clear fluid with no smell & the thickness of water. There was only a large wet stain on the one side of the car the night before & that's what made me concerned. Thanks anyway for all the suggestions.

PS: I had just made my yearly drive up from Florida to my summer home & drove through some winter weather going through PA & NY.
