Outside temperature sensor

Hi,

I am new to this but i have a 2003 (built dec 03) 320D. I am looking ton change the outside temperature sensor as my car reads +50 degrees always however I cant find it or the wires for it.. any idea where to look or trace, only thing i can find is a mushroom/disc shaped thing just hanging in the right side wheel arch but even if i disconnect it, it doesnt alter the reading...

The "hockey puck" on the right side (passenger side in the US) is a thermal switch for heated windsheild washer nozzles.

The outside air temp is in the other fender well (drivers side in the US) and is "pencil" shaped.

exactly. Here are the part numbers (but its for e46, not sure if it will be the same for yours):
1) 51-71-8-193-811 Covering Left (Driver's side)
2) 65-81-6-905-133 Temp Sensor
3) 90-88-6-616-043 Adapter Cable

what do u mean exactly by "all gone" ? is the temperature sensor missing, the wires are not there, or there is not trace of anything down there?

This thread might help, it is US specific and we didn't have the 320....

RealOEM.com shows the same part number used on the 320i
