Introduction
Just bought my first BMW, a 2007 550i. Whole different dimension of driving. If anyone has had experience installing a CD changer in an E60 please contact me. It seems that whoever traded it removed the CDC, I bought another on eBay and slid it into the backet behind the glove box and plugged in the power cord. The CDC powers up but the iDrive doesn't see it. In looking at the power plug I find the two prongs for the power, and four little pins. I assumed the pins were for the signal but now see a fiber optic cable is part of the equation - is that right? Assuming someone removed the CDC would my iDrive probably see the replacement if I get the FO cable hooked up? Any input would be well appreciated. Thanks
