All of my German cars....Audi, MB, & BMW have read a few MPH high. The theory is it help keep from having the police pulling over too often. those few % points are to help you in case you're doing 74 in a 65.

I'm actually confused as to why so many folks are surprised by this. I've been following cars for 45 years and virtually every car made for as long as I've been following them has been high. Years ago most of the magazine road tests actually showed the speedometer error. It's always been 2-3 mph high. So are motorcycles btw.
