What would you do?

So I am in a "pickle" with my car right now. I have currently ordered a new 2013 3 series but have choosen to keep my 2002 330ci coupe. I have now found out that the spoiler or wing on my car is leaking into my trunk. So what would you do?

Sell the car?
Removed the wing and plug the holes?
(if so what would you plug the holes with to keep it from leaking)
Or would you get a new lid, paint it, install it?
( I cant seem to find a decent used one or a new one for under 600dollars)

I have four holes if I remove the wing. I did not install it, the previous owner did.

Thanks Guys!

How about replacing the rubber gaskets where the wing attaches to the trunk lid?

What rubber gaskets? This wing is straight up screwed in four times//two on each side. There is no rubber. I did put silicone inbetween the gap and lid till I can figure out a fix. Im running out of ideas. Any thoughts or advice would be great.

Wings are gay....toss it, fill the holes, and be done with it.

Any idea how to get the damn thing off? I bought it with it on and its caused nothing but issues. What would you fill the holes with? Do they make black plugs? Silicone does not seem to be working on the one side to keep water out. After an hour of riping the trunk apart the guy who had it before me actually spray foamed the whole inside of the wing. Could I cut it off with a saw? lol

Have you not looked on ebay? You can get the whole trunk unpainted for $150; or around $250 painted black! If you're gonna do anything you might as well do it the right way - replace the trunk and relax knowing that there's no holes or plugs!

Checked ebay earlier. I found one that was under 250 and was totaled with dents and holes. Please do send the link to where you foudn the one for those prices. Id love to get a new lid just not spending 600+ on it when I have a new three series on its way. This car is paid off and I would love to keep it and tinker on it.

Body shop could fill the holes and blend the paint into the rest of the trunk lid.
Get an estimate from a couple of shops.
Who wants to drive around with black plugs in your trunk?? What do you use this car for?

I think i would try to just seal those holes better with some glue type sealant and then still have wing on them, but yes only 100% sure way is to get new trunk lid and never make holes to it.

Here's one as an exact match to your car that needs painted but is in great condition: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-2003-20...ab2ca4&vxp=mtr

Here's another that isn't an exact match but should work (needs painted but cheapest option): http://www.ebay.com/itm/DECK-LID-Pan...&forceRpt=true

*** YOU CAN BUY THE MODEL EMBLEM FOR YOUR CAR AT bavauto.com; SEARCH FOR "Emblem - Rear " 330Ci " - Genuine BMW"

Finally, here's an exact match for your car, painted and all with some scratches: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRUNK-DECK-L...427f84&vxp=mtr

You should be able to get the holes filled and painted for under $200. If the car was worth keeping before the water leak was discovered, its worth a couple of hundred to protect. I agree with your idea of removing the wing.

3M sealant 5200. If you can find the screws, unscrew them, fill the holes with 5200 and let dry, and put the wing back on. 5200 is flexible and weatherproof.

If taking the wing off permanently as has been mentioned, and you don't care what it looks like because it's going to be a new daily beater, just duct tape the holes? LOL, no I'm not being serious!

Lol no duct tape will be on my girl. If I fill the holes how will I reattach the wing I have? Lol. Maybe I'm just being a blonde. I was able to get one screws out and it's now lost inside the wing along with a crap load of yellow spray foam. ( foam is from the previous owner the more I take the trunk apart the more I notice spray foam and extra wiring, possible that the owner before me put a sound system in the trunk )

This car is my daily but every part has been redone on this car and I plan to keep it in great condition even after I take delivery to my new 3 series. I will continue to daily drive this one seeing how my parking lot at work is a nightmare. I prefer not to get dings or scratches on the new girl.
