245/45/R18 to 245/50/R18
I live in Colorado where lowering my daily driver is not a good option because of snow. I do like the look of lowered cars because it closes the gap between the tire and fender.
So I decided to increase the height of my tires to close the gap between the top of the tires and the bottom of the fender. The stock tire was 245/45/R18 (26.68" tall). Some of you stated that 245/50/R18 (27.65" tall) tires won't rub, so I went that route. I plan on keeping these wheels and tires around for winter and purchasing a new set of 19" wheels around the same height (27.65" tall). Pictures to come next spring. Here are some pictures showing winter tires on the car with the taller size in case anyone else has the same interest. I think the car looks a little more aggressive, and I really like it. |

I've seen some F10 owners get taller tires to combat the potholes, but doing it to close the gap is a first. I'm thinking about going wider next Summer - 255/40R19. I've resprung with Dinan, so I've still have some excess gap to fill in. Thanks.
