Anyone autocross their 1 series?

I am thinking about auto crossing my 135, but I have no idea what category I should be running. I have read the SCCA guidelines, but you need a freakin law degree to try and decipher what category I should be running. It seems like just by using a different steering wheel puts you into a Street Tuning Category. Is that right?

Does anyone race their ride? It sounds like fun but a bit intimidating trying to figure it all out.

I would like to hear from those who have tracked there 135i.

I autocrossed my 128i convertible with sport suspension in a BMW Car Club of America
event in Marina, CA (near Monterrey) at an airport infield. This was a very well organized
event with a true coned course that challenged all participants as well as a figure eight that helped me understand the limits of the car.
I highly recommend membership (76,000 strong) the largest and best car club in the world, cheap to join and you get 'Roundel', hands down the best club magazine out there featuring Mike Miller in Tech Talk.

I had a blast running the ONE in that event, run flats and all, and found the car to be very competent and tossable. The Club has regional chapters and Autocross and car control clinics are mainstays and professionally run.

Here is my son's 135i at a fun-run autocross. They are very capable with a set of sticky tyres (Dunlop Star Specs in this case).

got a 135 coupe w/m package, totally stock. did a couple autox's with BMW car club, pretty well organized events. you would get 49 points for a stock car (or 45, depending on the year) + additional points depending on the modifications.
