Automatic Gearbox Change
Hi all,
i just took ownership of an e46 318i. The automatic gearbox was having an issue and my mechanic had it swapped out for a second hand one. It has been working well so far, but every now and then the gear warning light comes up.....the mechanic says the newer gearbox needs to be syched up with car or something about erasing faults off the computer box....could this possibly be the reason..... any thoughts on this one?

The faults he's talking about will tell you what the problem is. Get the codes read at autozone or some place and find out what the real problem is.
