2013 gran coupe front sport seats for UK but not for USA

i just noticed that the gran coupe front seat design differs from the european spec seats. i visited bmw.co.uk and the seats look much sportier and the headrest design on front seats is similar to the ones in back seats . any thoughts of why we are getting traditional seat design vs others getting better looking sports design headrests for front?

The seats that the U.S. has standard are a $1600 option in the U.K., I don't know what the real differences are but I am guessing there has to be something better with the U.S. ones if they cost $1600 more to add in the U.K..
