Automatic Service notification/intervals - Bimmerfest

I have a '12 335i, and get this wonderful message telling me when my next service is every time I start the car. The only problem is that it's always the same. It always reads December 2013 14,000 miles. Shouldn't it count down or change?

I've only had the car for a couple months and have 2,700 miles on it, but it has always read the exact same. I thought it should tell me that my next service is in xxxxx miles at approx whatever date, not always telling me I have 14k miles and over a year to go.

Is something wrong that I should get checked out?

I think it's saying the service is AT 14,000 miles, not IN 14,000 miles.

edit - seems like I thought wrong.

It counts down in 1,000 mile increments. I have 9,000 miles on mine and the message says service will be due in 6,000 miles.

It starts at 15,000 miles in the US. If you are at 2,700 miles and still at 14,000 you must be babying your car!

Mine has just under 3k and says service in 9k...will see!

That's what I would have expected. I think something is off on mine...

It's normal. The system doesn't seem to be linear. When it's time for the oil change it will be accurate.

Well that answers my question too. Mine says 15,000 miles and I have almost 1000 miles.

The system is condition based. It takes everything into account, like average temp of oil, distances driven, condition of oil, etc etc and then tells you how many miles you have left. That goes for all of BMW's systems.
