Comfort Access / soft close.... Now on recall list

I got the notice for the roll-away recall but not the soft-close recall, even though I match the criteria. Hopefully this causes them to send out more notices.

I called BMW a while ago and they told me that there isn't any recalls for the soft closing doors and there hasn't been a recall for these cars yet she a sure me

Same here. This is what raised my curiosity.

Uh-oh. It's looking like BMW NA is trying to give me the runaround. The same Resolution Specialist left a voice message at my home with some BS message about my car still not being covered under this recall because the "integration level is correct". I've now placed a phone call to that Resolution Specialist and am waiting for a return call and an explanation.

Try to get a complete workup on your car. Maybe whom ever had it before you ADDED the soft close to it. Its a thread on here(check the DIY section) on looking up your car last 7 of your vin to see what feature came with your specific car.

Thanks for the tip. Just for fun, I went and found this link, http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/, in the "7 Series DIY" section and entered my VIN and it did confirm that both "soft close doors" and "comfort access" options came equipped on my car.

Cool...more ammo for you to fight with!

Update: On 2/21, I received a call from a Customer Relations Specialist in the Easter Division of BMW's executive department and relayed to them the same info. They said they would get back to me upon further review with their engineers. Well, on 3/1 I received a second call from the same specialist to inform me that the recall did in fact apply to my vehicle although not originally on their official list and that they would be reimbursing me for the cost of the repair. I do like happy endings.

I just had my drivers soft door motor changed out couple months ago bc it was sometimes closing and sometimes not... Cost over a grand!!! Can I get a refund from BMW ya think?

You could try pleading your case to your service advisor to see if they can do anything about it.

By the way, the driver's door didn't latch for me this morning which was surprising after having been trouble-free all these weeks. So far it's only happened once. I'll bring this up to my SA when I take my car in next week to address the other recall (12V-504 Rollaway).

Well... A month went by with no incident of the door not latching then one morning it didn't latch. Then it happened again a week later. Has this happened to anyone else that had the software reprogramming for the soft close automatic doors (Recall campaign No. 12V-504)?

I did take my car to the dealer two days ago to address the second recall notice for the rollaway issue and also had them take a second look into this issue. They didn't reproduce the failure and said that if it occurs again in the future that they may recommend replacing the door lock actuator. I seriously doubt that is the culprit.
