x5 petrol torque convertor
does the torque convertor use a bearing on the 3.0i petrol auto box G M type box as this
could be the source of the noise I mentioned in an earlier post although I am not sure whether the torque convertor spins when in park or neutral,as the noise that concerns me only occurs when the gearbox is in gear,it sounds like a slack chain.thanks in advance for any help given andy |

The transmission torque converter is turning when ever the engine is turning. It is bolted directly to a flex plate, which is directly bolted to the engine crank shaft.

lack of transmission oil
would anyone think that lack of transmission oil is the cause of a noise in the auto
transmission as the noise is only heard in gear at rest, or idle. many thanks for the earlier reply. |
