Super Premium detail products...newbie...

Hi, I am new to this forum. Just need basic info if someone can indulge me. I am looking to step up my detail game quite a bit. I usually use Meguiars products for my ride, but my 535xi deserves something special.

Can someone give me really good (not great) products to use so that I can get the most shine, but not spend a huge amount of cash? I am also new to "super premium" polishes and waxes so I know nothing about them although I've detailed all of my cars religiously 2x per year for over 20 years.

Let me know. thanks.

Einszett 1Z make really good stuff at reasonable prices.

Their glanz wax is a great product.

Duragloss makes a great shampoo.
Meguiar's makes great polishes - M105, M205 plus others,
Pinnacle Souveran is a great beauty wax for dark colours. Overkill on light colours.
Duragloss and Collinite make very reasonably priced and long lasting sealants and waxes.

Remember the shine is in the prep work prior to your last step product (sealant or wax).

Thanks. I'll go with Poor boys because it supposedly can be applied in direct sunlight as well as indoors. I like to work in direct light to make sure I remove all of the wax/polish.

One last question... Should I go with clay bar/ polish/ wax or just polish/wax combo? Is the clay bar recommended?

Do the plastic wrap test and see if you need to clay. Often though lower portions almost always could stand claying. With that said, it is not a 'must'. Short of breaking out the DA and Polish (I ALWAYS clay before this), the furthest I usually go is clay, Klasse All in One (KAO) and Collinite 845. Long lasting, car looks great and works very nicely on the plastic trim. Heck, KAO I have been known to put on the entire exterior of the car, even glass (not windsheild or rubber). My favorite carwash is Griots. But really most of the time anymore washing is with Optimum No Rinse (ONR) or the foam cannon with DP Xtreme, Optimum Car Wash or something along those line. I do like to use a spray wax or quick detailer (even ONR at qucik detail concentration) as a drying aid.

You really should consider moving out of the direct sun light. Do it in the garage, pull out and inspect. A quick detailer or spray wax will make it easy to remove the excess should you miss some.

I was selected to do field testing for Wolf gang. Excellent products but a tad on the expensive side for me for the results. Their high gloss sealant is super shiny but didn't seem as durable as others I used.
