Jon, I assume this would be a lockable deal like last years? Or do I need to take delivery before year end?

As bad as the economy in the United States is these days, it's nowhere near as bad as the economy in Europe. Automakers have slashed European sales forecasts, and even China, once seen as the land of unlimited opportunity, seems to be cooling to luxury car purchases.

That leaves the United States as the last best hope for BMW to pull out a halfway decent year in 2012. To that end, Automotive News (subscription required) tells us that BMW is switching "tens of thousands" of models once destined for European or Asian markets to U.S. dealers.

If that's the dark cloud, here's the silver lining: if U.S. BMW dealers have more inventory than the market wants, the company could turn to discounts and incentives to move product.

Pretty academic - it's not as though you can pay last year's prices this year. And I doubt anyone would stockpile cars because they were suddenly a bit cheaper.

For most folks, it matters if the are thinking of getting a new car within 6 months, and can do so now. What would be disappointing is if someone held back because the pricing wasn't as sharp as 2012, or 2008 etc.

As a buyer getting ready to pull the trigger.....

If I wait 2 days for the announced deal, and have a dealer find a car on the ground, is this car not going to qualify for the newest promo??? As the dealer I deal with never holds back on pricing and money factor..... so I feel safe with pricing (Thank You Passport BMW), or are the rates to compensate for a reduced price going up??

OR.. if I order, is BMW not able to produce in 8 weeks for a 335 xdrive with m package?? But what does 2 days make??

I do have tomorrow off .....

I too am ready to pull the trigger on a 2013 528i only if the end of year incentives are good for ED and is lockable since I prefer to travel out to Munich around late March or early April. I'm hoping it will be the case. I've been waiting for the right time to buy and replace my 2002 E46 for a while now.

Exact same here, ED around April but for an X1 35. I just worry the deal is for current stock by the phrase "Factory Order Bank".

Activehybrid 3 Eco-Credit and Hurricane Sales Event - To Lease or Wait???

A dealer in northern VA has a sales event that ends close of business tomorrow (extra $1500 off invoice)

I'm wondering if I should wait for this "end of year sales event" or if i should pull the trigger on the eco-credit since it also expires oct.31, 2012.

I have checked in with several dealers and none in the area have the extra $1500 off.

BMWconfig.com has the invoice on this build at $57000

I need advice!!

Should I jump on this deal or wait?

2013 Activehybrid 3
Sport Line
Mineral White
Black/Red interior
Premium
Technology
Cold Weather
Auto Sport w/paddles
Park Distance
Rear View Camera
HK Sound

MSRP $61220
Invoice: $56730
Selling Price (includes $3500 eco-credit & $1500 sales promo): $51730

Planning on 7 MSDs at 10k miles 36 months.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!

Chris,

I have read many of your posts on this forum and respect your opinion as you are very knowledgable.

What's the logic and history of deals that I am not aware of?

Thanks!

I guess that's my question:

Not knowing what tomorrow will bring, $10k off the msrp at the end of the month looks strong to me. This Eco credit ends today...

But, that's why I defer to the knowledge base....

That is a tough decision, maybe if you send Jon an email he can hint to you what is coming.

While it's great Jon is telling all of you the Nov/Dec Holiday promotions are about to kick in BUT for those of you that are planning on leasing your next BMW...submit your rate LOCK TODAY with your local dealers...because with every cash incentive there will be a residual drop. Some models will drop more than others...that I can assure you ...

Lock in to Oct...then use the better of the two programs starting tomorrow

Especially if you are still sitting back waiting on a MY12 year end close out lease...if you wait till tomorrow you will be really disappointed...Key word is LOCK
